Event Registration Information

To Register:   Please let us know ASAP via email if you can come and how many will be in your party. At this point (August 14), it is too late to do much except just show up, as far as volunteering to help much or let us know your dietary preferences/constraints, but please do let us know how many are coming via email (to 60Party2014@comcast.net). You can chip-in via a PayPal payment (see below for PayPal instructions), if you like, or when you arrive via cash or check.  When you sign in at the event, you will get a "souvenir" registration sticker!

Due to the late date now, the following is not going to be as useful as it was initially; a link to a party registration form, that includes a food/volunteer survey. Although it might still be useful, and you are welcome to use it, we aren't looking for these at this point. Things are pretty well coordinated, but there are some last minute tweaks going on, if you would like to check out the "food/volunteers" page for what people have already indicated they would bring, to see how you might supplement. (The survey asks about food preferences, dietary restrictions, and about what one would like to bring/do.)  Of course, you could always just send preferences/offers via email (to 60Party2014@comcast.net) with the relevant information. [If you want to just trust us, the food (grilled chicken, burgers, veggie burgers, many side dishes brought by your fellow attendees, etc.) will be very good.]

To printout a copy of the registration form: click on this picture of the form right here ----> Registration Form, print/fill out the form, scan it and email it to the event coordinator (60Party2014@comcast.net).

To chip-in, either use PayPal, as instructed below, or (at this point) use cash/check at the party site when you arrive and check-in/register. Following are instructions on how to contribute via PayPal.

To do PayPal:

1.) If you do have a PayPal account:

To chip in, go to www.paypal.com, the PayPal website (PayPal), and follow the instructions ( $15/person requested). Select "Send Money". Where it says "To", enter the email address: 60Party2014@comcast.net..

[Please select "I'm sending money to family or friends" as the payment type), as you are reimbursing for a share of the event costs, like paying back for splitting dinner or whatever; do not select ("I'm paying for goods or services") as you are chipping in on a birthday picnic, not purchasing goods or services. (This, the applicable category, is free for both sides.) As PayPal's website says, it may take 2-3 days to set up the bank account version, but it seems worth it in the longer run. (Update: my account just got confirmed and PayPal is working...)]

2.) If you don't have a PayPal account:

Please go to the PayPal website (www.paypal.com) and open a free personal account. You just need an email address (and a password), and a bank account (or credit card). If you associate the account with a bank account, there are no fees to either side. Otherwise, you can use a credit card and there would be an estimated 70-75 cent surchage by PayPal.) (If any of this is problematic, please contact us.)  Thank you.

FYI:  For the sake of simplicity all around, it was decided that a default event contribution amount ($15) should be set at a level that would almost cover costs, with the proviso being that, if there is money left, a contribution will be made to PanCAN, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (see link for information about this worthy cause, and/or to make direct contributions to PanCAN). (We really didn't lose more money than anticipated last time, and a small contribution was made.)

TMI:  The suggested chip-in amount ($15) is intended to be enough to cover common facility costs (Proud Lake State Recreation Area site reservation/rental fees, etc.), and most food/beverages/etc. costs. As it was in 2010 and 2004, the best guess is that we should all chip in at least $15 and hopefully bring something, like coolers/ice; cases of beverages, largish plates-to-pass of specialties, etc. (see "food/volunteers" page to get the general idea of what is still needed to be coordinated and (pledged). The amount is the same as it was at the 2004 and 2010 events; however, frankly, with park costs higher this year, it will not likely be enough to cover costs, that's why planning to grab an extra 24-pack of water (and communicating in advance) will really help...)  Of course, if a super lot of people come and we raise a few bucks for PanCAN, great, but that's not really expected. (The food has been great, varied, and plentiful and worth the requested amount in itself, common costs aside. Too good to be true?! Come find out! A lot of nice people brought a lot of nice stuff to eat, etc.), and it was excellent.

[If you are financially unable to make the suggested contribution, send an email. We want to be as inclusive as possible and don't want $ to interfere with an important opportunity to see each other.]

Please note: You will have to pay a Proud Lake vehicle entrance fee (unless you have the appropriate sticker), independent of your registration contribution. It's $11 for in-state license plates (See the Proud Lake Info page for more info...).

The Triumph of The Commons!   With good communications, we can coordinate things so no one has to prepare or bring too much on the day of the event; and there will be more great (whatever) for everyone!
