By the way, Boo's is the Live Blues & Jazz Club managed by fellow-60-turning BHS friend Mark Pasman, The Paz, who famously hosted WCSX's Blues Cruise for decades.  Mark also periodically leads great All-Star Blues Sessions, featuring such musical luminaries as Thornetta Davis, Jim McCarty, and many others.

 Shot of Paz

(You may also recall that that Mark graciously played bass for the "XBHS Jam Band (I)" at the 55 Party at Kensington Park (2010).)

For this event, Jeff Grand and his Grandmasters (featuring Tino Gross and Chris Rumel) will perform.

Rick at the 60 Party 2014  In any case, this should all really be great, on many levels...!!!

XBHS Jam Band at 55 Party Here is a picture captured from a video recording from the "55 Party 2010", including (at least) four people we hope to see/hear Rock On on June 21, 2015... Jeff, Mark, Bob and Rick.

Following are several videos featuring Rick and friends from events in recent years (with focus on jams led by Rick...).

Starting with the so-called (by some) "XBHS Jam Band II" playing at the 60 Party at Proud Lake State Recreation Area on August 16, 2014, here is the first song played at the event, a most excellent "Freeway Free Jam".  This band also included Jeff Grand on guitars, with Paul Irwin (bass/guitar), Greg Manning (percussion), and Danny Feinberg (congas).

Here's a very cool version of "Superstition".

Nice instrumental version of "Badge"...

This one wasn't led by Rick (Jeff sang), but is a very cool eastern-sounding, almost haunting, version of the classic Blind Faith tune, Can't Find My Way Home (two versions, as described below):

Following are music/videos from the "55 Party", Live from Kensington Park, July 31, 2010.  Rick performed with a jam band, also including Jeff Grand, Mark Pasman, Greg Manning, Bob Haskins, Irv Hordes, Dan Feinberg, Danny Feinberg and/or Bob Throneburgh (largely BHS Classes of 72/73 alums).

First song of the show... Voodoo Chile  - Having never before played together in more than 2-3 man combinations, the jam band started off with this great Jimi song, and only got better as they progressed through the seven songs, sung/led by Rick S. (click/press here or on the picture to the left)
If this picture doesn't show up, please (contact us)

Crossroads - XBHS doing the classic classic; sung by Rick S. (Unfortunately for this recording, the picnic table was left in charge of the camcorder, so the view is distant and static...) (click/press here or there)

Feelin' pretty good myself...

Feelin' Alright - Another classic, with the jam being joined by Tom H on lead vocals. (click/press here or there)

Nice view, but rough audio... Sunshine of Your Love ...alot of fun to hear the jam band play this!...with Tom H on vocals. (click/press here or there)
Got a nice view during this song. Pride and Joy - FYI, Tom left the assemblage and this song was sung/led by Rick S.  (click/press here or there)

Rick played with Mitch Ryder on several albums, as well as touring with him in the U.S. and Europe, including a performance in Germany which was documented on film.  Following are links to music videos taken from that concert, at the Rockpalast, courtesy of postings on YouTube.  (The following includes info associated with the postings (which could use some tweaking for the purpose of this webpage, but here it is, as is, for now...)

This part of the Full Moon Concert Night took place at 3 am (it was in 1979!!!). That's the reason why the audience is already very tired and "asleep". And Mitch too ... ;-)))

Mitch Ryder - "WAR" from the LP Easter in Berlin Live 1980

It was the spring of 1980, when Mitch Ryder and his band began their first European tour. The tour came on the heels his legendary and somewhat controversial appearance on German TV show "Rockpalast" the previous autumn . This track was recorded "Live" at the Opera Hall in West Berlin in East Germany before the wall ever came down. The complete LP -- "Easter In Berlin -- Live 1980" is available by download only through CD Baby www.cdbaby.com/mitchryder4 . It's also available from the German record label Repertoire as part of a double CD set "Live Talkies" + "Easter In Berlin". Video was created by Tom Conner, Ryder's co-producer at the time.

Late-breaking feature...Rick joined Jeff Grand and the Grandmasters to jam at Boo's on Friday, June 5, 2015.  Rick jammed with the band for several songs.

For this event, Jeff Grand and his Grandmasters (featuring Tino Gross and Chris Rumel) performed, with guest star Harmonica Shah. Rick jammed with the group for several songs during the latter part of the show.  Rick's part followed a series of jams with the Paz joining Jeff's Band. Definitely was a blast!!!  The jams with Paz are provided below, first, as they occurred...  The band played very well and the jamming guitar duets featured were particularly enjoyable...(check them out below)!
